Trunking
Here at Island Electronics we use two separate trunking
systems. A trunking system is the automatic sharing of
channels in a multiple repeater system. The advantages of
trunking include less waiting to access the system and
increased channel capacity for a given quality of service.
Since the probability of all channels being busy at the same
instant is very low (especially in larger systems like ours),
the chance of being monitored or blocked is virtually
impossible compared to a single channel system.
The are two different systems used here at Island Electronics.
One is the LTR system of distributed control, and the other is
the Motorola dedicated control channel. |
Both systems are available and very competitively priced.
The LTR system is a flat fee of:
$15 per radio per month
The Motorola system is a sliding scale:
$25 per month for under 10 radios and $20 per month for over
10
Telephone interconnect is $40 a month (includes the trunking
fee), plus a $0.25/min usage fee.
Please feel free to call us for a quote or to inquire about
service. We offer the best systems on the island and are by
far the most dependable.
